Narsee Monjee (NMIMS) Mumbai wins the second season of SABMiller India's 'Brew-a-Career' national case study competition
A campus connect programme to attract the right talent pool and groom them as future leaders

Bangalore, 11 Sept 2015: : The second season of ‘Brew-a-Career’ campus case study competition organized by SABMiller India successfully concluded with Narsee Monjee (NMIMS) Mumbai emerging as winners. The winning team was awarded with a pre placement internship offer at SABMiller India along with prize money worth Rs.1,00,000. IIM Kozhikode and IIM Indore adjudged the first and second runners up received prize money worth Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively. An innovative case study competition, ‘Brew-a-Career’ helps to identify and attract the right talent pool that can be groomed as the future leaders of SABMiller India. It also provides the students a rare opportunity to meet and interact with senior leadership.

The second edition of the competition launched at 16 prominent business schools across India received an overwhelming 570+ team applications, with around 2,000 students participating. The finale saw a fierce competition amongst leading B-schools such as IIFT Delhi, FMS Delhi, IIM Ranchi, IIM Indore, XLRI Jamshedpur, last year winners IMT Ghaziabad, NMIMS Mumbai, XIM Bhubaneswar, MICA Ahmedabad, SCMHRD Pune, SIBM Pune and IIM Kozhikode who presented to the Executive Committee of SABMiller India. This year’s case study involved a complex and holistic business scenario which required teams to work together using their analytical abilities, problem solving skills, entrepreneurial innovativeness, social accountability & community enablement.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Shalabh Seth, Managing Director, SABMiller India, said “It is overwhelming to see the student turnout for our competition and I am very pleased to meet some bright talented minds. I look forward to working with some of you in the near future and thank you for participating.”

Speaking at the event, Mr. Alok Ranjan, Director Human Resources, SABMiller India said ‘‘Brew-a-Career case study competition is an exciting part of our Campus Connect strategy. We strongly believe in attracting, developing and enhancing talent through our internship and trainee programmes. Participating teams compete for exciting cash prizes while putting their best foot forward for the opportunity to work on live business project through our internship programme. Their projects allow them to directly engage with business leaders, build recommendations which are implemented and enhance their abilities as future managers/leaders.

Members of the winning team from NMIMS Mumbai said, “We are delighted to have won this prestigious business case-study competition by SABMiller India and look forward to working closely with the stalwarts of the industry.”
