Project Humsafar aids truckers

Face to face interactions, group discussions were used to reach truckers.

Project Humsafar – a project that aims to help truckers said decisions about their sexual behavior – has helped around 5,342 truckers through various activities.

Speaking on Project Humsafar Meenakshi Sharma, Vice President, CSR and Sustainability, SAB Miller India said they had used methods of one-on-one interaction and group discussions to reach truckers.

Almost 442 contacts had been made so far through referral of truckers to local civil hospitals and integrated counseling and testing centres along with free disbursement of 4,699 condoms through small scale dhabas/Pan beedi shops.

Project Humsafar was launched in 2008 by SABMiller’s Rochees Breweries with the NGO Humana People to People India and Rajasthan State Aids Control Society.
