SABMiller India Marksworld AIDS Day week 'Getting to Zero'

Organises awareness activities and engages with employees across all it locations around the theme

New Delhi, 2 Dec 2013: To mark the World AIDS Day, SABMiller Indiaorganized awareness activities such as street play, slogan competition, painting competition, sessions with PLHIV et al at its breweries and regional offices in India. Other activities such as health camp, eye camp, , film shows, theme based sports events, quiz on HIV/AIDS were also organised for truckers and other workers as part of its Project Humsafar.

A street play on the theme of spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS was organised for the employees of SABMiller India at its corporate office in Gurgaon. The play showcased the ways of transmission and focused on the methods of prevention from getting infected to generate the required awareness.

As part of SABMiller India's HIV/AIDS trucker's programme 'Project Humsafar', a special activities were organized for the truckers Launched in 2007, the programme emphasizes on educating and creating awareness amongst the truckers on HIV/AIDS through various outreach activities in its breweries. The programme focuses on education and awareness about routes of transmission, disease prevention, availability and usage of condoms, referrals for counseling, testing and treatment, addressing stigma and creating empathy through contact programmes which are one-on-one interactions with positive people and their families and friends.
